Call for a permanent ceasefire
Over 2.3 million people in Gaza are in urgent need of safety and vital assistance, including food, water and medical supplies.
As the death toll in Gaza surpasses 40,000 and the threat of a full-blown epidemic increases, a ceasefire must be urgently and immediately agreed upon. This death toll does not include those who remain trapped under rubble or have died due to lack of medicines, such as cancer or dialysis patients who have not been able to access life-saving treatments. UNICEF reported that, by the 7th of January 2024, more than 1,000 children had one or both legs amputated.
As the world watches the war in Gaza drag on, Lebanon is now fully swept into the conflict, facing its own mounting humanitarian catastrophe. Israeli strikes on Lebanon have been relentless, resulting in over 2,000 individuals killed and more than 9,000 injured since October 2023.
These deliberate attacks on the civilian population and essential infrastructure must stop, as required by international humanitarian law. We need to urgently protect Palestinian, Lebanese and Israeli civilians and humanitarian workers from attacks and demand that water, food, fuel, healthcare and other vital aid be allowed to reach those impacted.
We will not be bystanders. Please join us as we urge the world leaders to call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire.
Halting the violence is the only way to guarantee the entry of vital aid and humanitarian personnel into Gaza and Lebanon, to release all civilians detained and to evacuate critically ill patients.
