STOP ARMS SALES TO ISRAEL

Canada’s export of military weapons and arms to Israel is fueling one of the deadliest and most destructive wars in modern history. 

As the death toll in Gaza surpasses 40,000 and the threat of a full-blown epidemic increases, a ceasefire must be urgently and immediately agreed upon. As the world watches the war in Gaza drag on, Lebanon is now fully swept into the conflict, facing its own mounting humanitarian catastrophe. Israeli strikes on Lebanon have been relentless, resulting in over 2,000 individuals killed and more than 9,000 injured since October 2023.

Canada must immediately stop all weapons, parts and ammunition transfers to Israel. While Canada has put a freeze on new and some existing arms export permits, it is critical to suspend ALL permits already approved, and put in place measures to prevent weapons and arms manufactured in Canada from reaching Israel through the United States. Between October and December 2023 alone, Canada approved $30M of arms exports, more than in any given year over the past 30 years. 

As the devastation in Gaza, and now in Lebanon, escalates to alarming levels, it’s time to speak out and demand Canada stop selling arms to Israel RIGHT NOW. 

Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly has the power to suspend all arms exports, including those already approved.
